How to Create an Anchor Tag in Keysite Enterprise
Synopsis: Anchor tags allow you to link from one area of a web page to another.
Anchor links allow you to link from one point in a web page to another point within that same page. They can be especially useful if your page has content that scrolls far below the viewable area.
- Open a page for editing (see “Edit an existing page” in the Quick Start Guide).
- Find the place in the document that you want the link to point towards. This is the target of your anchor link. Insert the cursor in the appropriate place (often, at the beginning of a line of text). Avoid highlighting text.
- On the editor tool bar, click on the icon of an anchor.
- In the field that says “Anchor Name,” assign this location in your document a descriptive name you will recognize. (Avoid using spaces or special characters.) Click “OK”.
- If you are adding multiple anchor links within the same document, repeat steps 2 through 4 until you have marked all of the targets you will link to.
- Next, find the text in the document that you want to link to your anchor. Highlight the text with your cursor.
- On the editor tool bar, click on the icon for creating a hyperlink.
- In the pop-up window that appears, under Link Type, select “Anchor in this page” from the pull-down menu.
- From the pull-down menu under “Select an Anchor – By Anchor Name,” choose the target you want this link to point. Click “OK”.
- If you have additional anchor links to insert, repeat steps 6 through 9 until you have connected all targets to anchor links.
- Click “Save Changes”.
