HTML Editor User Guide - Toolbar Overview

Synopsis: See this cheat sheet on the tools and features of KSE's HTML editor.

Icon Function

Cut the highlighted text.

Copy the highlighted text.

Paste copied text (with or without formatting).

Print the HTML content within the editor.

Spell check the HTML page.

Undo or redo the most recent action.

Find a word or phrase within the text of the HTML page.

Find and replace a word or phrase within the text.

Select all of the text in the HTML page (usually used before copy or cut, or to apply a style or format to the whole page).

Remove the formatting from highlighted text.

Bold, italic, underscore or strikethrough highlighted text.

Add numbering to highlighted text.

Add bullets to highlighted text.

Insert divider line (horizontal rule).

Insert symbols and special characters (trademarks, currency, etc.). Note: Support for this feature will be available soon.

Online keyboard for certain non-Roman characters.

Upload or insert images into the HTML page.

Add or remove hyperlink from highlighted text. Also manage file uploads and links to files on the web server.

Anchor link to a specific point within a Web page.

Format the appearance of HTML text. You may also use the drop-down menu to style specific elements (such as headings). Some Web pages can have multiple titles and sub-titles at various levels in a text. Styling with 'Heading' helps to organize these levels of titles. 'Headings' are useful to:

  • Deliver consistent, site-wide formatting to individual Web pages, and
  • Structure text in Web pages and provide easier navigation.
